DUI Kills

Monika was taken from us on December 6th, 2008 at the age of 15 by a young drunk driver. Being a pedestrian, she had no chance of surviving. However, her thoughts, poems, and art she created survived and her love for dancing still lives in the hearts of others. Passionate and original, she laughed laud, cried hard and always stood up for her friends. Monika’s memory and dreams are kept alive through Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Proud of her Polish roots Monika spoke fluently Polish and English. In honor of that pride a Heritage Scholarship was established.

Monika’s unexpected, violent, and preventable death caused by selfish and ignorant decision of another prompted her family to fight against impaired and distracted driving alongside Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM) and educate young students about consequences of destructive decisions. In the spirit of this purpose an Awareness Scholarship found its way to this Memorial Fund.

To achieve our mission, we created a cultural event, an Annual Concert of heart touching songs and dances, a musical story of life, hope and everlasting love. Through this story we wish to raise awareness of devastating effects of drinking and driving, as well as bring hope to those whose lives lost purpose.
